The basement Potion Laboratory was built around a forest of copper pipes that carry clean water, cooling vapor, and the occasional warning whistle. Each workbench has its own containment circle, ingredient scales, and scorch-proof surface. The apothecary drawers are marked with symbols because several specimens react badly to being named aloud.
Beginners learn steady hands and careful records here before attempting transformative brews. Advanced students share the rear benches with the academy infirmary, where remedies are tested under close supervision. A silver bell rings when a mixture becomes unstable; two bells mean step back, and three mean Professor Kade has already taken charge.
