Encourages controlled duels and believes students must demonstrate power under pressure. Once destroyed an entire dueling arena by accident. "Magic is violence. Pretending otherwise only gets you killed."
About Professor Valerian Drayke
Valerian Drayke teaches destructive magic without euphemism. His classes begin with stance, distance, and an honest accounting of what a spell can do to a body or building. Only then are students allowed to summon flame, force, or fracture inside the arena's layered wards.
His standards are severe, but his grading is unusually transparent: power matters less than judgment under pressure. The burn marks on his coat are never repaired, a reminder of the arena he once destroyed through overconfidence. He has no patience for bravado and considerable patience for a student willing to admit fear.
